CFMoto is a Chinese manufacturer founded in 1989 in Hangzhou by Lai Guoqiang, originally as an engine supplier before expanding into complete ATVs and side-by-sides in the early 2000s. It is China's largest exporter of quads and utility vehicles, with production capacity exceeding 600,000 units a year sold to more than 80 countries, and has been listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange since 2017 under the name Chunfeng Power. CFMoto's motorcycle ambitions accelerated through a partnership with Austria's KTM, beginning as a components and engine supply deal in 2011 and formalized into a joint venture in 2017. That relationship now runs in both directions: CFMoto manufactures certain KTM models, including the 790 Adventure, for global markets, while its own motorcycles increasingly use KTM-derived engineering for sale in Europe and beyond. The result is a manufacturer whose modern street and adventure bikes carry real shared DNA with an established European brand rather than being purely in-house designs.
