FB Mondial was founded in Milan in 1929 by four Boselli siblings - Luigi, Carlo, Ettore, and Ada - initially as a repair and sales shop for GD-brand motorcycles, with "FB" standing for Fratelli Boselli (Boselli Brothers). The company began building its own machines and relaunched under the Mondial name in 1948, quickly establishing itself as a dominant force in Grand Prix racing: between 1949 and 1957 Mondial claimed five rider and five manufacturer world championship titles. A revival attempt in the late 1980s did not last. The brand was revived again in 2014 by Pier Luigi Boselli in partnership with Italian company Pelpi International, relaunching production in 2015 around retro-styled models such as the Hipster, and has continued building small-volume motorcycles under the historic name since.
