Victory Motorcycles

Victory Motorcycles was an American cruiser brand founded in 1997 by Polaris Industries, the Minnesota-based maker of snowmobiles and ATVs, as its answer to Harley-Davidson's dominance of the domestic cruiser market. The first production Victory, a V92C, rolled off the line in Spirit Lake, Iowa, on July 4, 1998. Over roughly two decades Victory built a range of V-twin cruisers and baggers and ran a factory road-racing program, but it never reached sustained profitability at the scale Polaris wanted. In January 2017, Polaris announced it was shutting Victory down entirely rather than continuing to invest in it. The brand's discontinuation cleared the way for Polaris to focus instead on its other, longer-established marque, Indian Motorcycle, which absorbed much of Victory's engineering and manufacturing capacity. Victory is now a discontinued brand with no active production or new models.
