ARCH Motorcycle Company was founded in 2011 in Hawthorne, California, by actor Keanu Reeves and custom motorcycle builder Gard Hollinger. The partnership began in 2007, when Reeves hired Hollinger to customize his Harley-Davidson Dyna Wide Glide; after roughly five years of design and testing, the finished bike retained only the original Harley engine, with everything else reengineered from scratch. Reeves was impressed enough with the result that he proposed the two go into business building the motorcycle for other riders, an idea Hollinger initially resisted before agreeing to co-found the company. That prototype evolved directly into ARCH's first production model, the KRGT-1, and the company has continued building small-batch, heavily customized American V-twin motorcycles from its Hawthorne workshop since.
