The BMW M 1000 RR is the first BMW motorcycle to carry the M performance badge. Launched in 2021, it is based on the S 1000 RR but is designed for racing homologation, with more power, carbon-fibre winglets and lighter components.
It uses a version of the S 1000 RR's 999cc inline-four with ShiftCam technology, tuned for high revs and power over 200 hp. It is produced in limited numbers for experienced riders and racers. Rivals include the Ducati Panigale V4 R and Yamaha R1M.
