The BMW R 100 RS is a classic sports tourer from BMW, the first production motorcycle with a full fairing designed in a wind tunnel. It uses an air-cooled 979cc boxer twin with shaft drive.
Fast, comfortable and reliable, it was a favourite with long-distance riders. Rivals included the Moto Guzzi Le Mans and Honda CBX550.
