The BMW R 1250 GS Adventure is the long-distance version of the R 1250 GS, launched in 2019. It uses the 1,254cc boxer twin with ShiftCam variable valve timing, giving it strong, smooth power across the rev range.
It has a 30-litre fuel tank, longer-travel suspension, crash bars and better weather protection, making it ideal for long adventure trips. It has a full electronics package. It was replaced by the R 1300 GS Adventure in 2024. Rivals include the KTM 1290 Super Adventure and Triumph Tiger 1200.
