The 1984 Suzuki GS 450 E is a mid-size twin from Suzuki's long-running GS family. Its air-cooled 448cc parallel twin drives through a six-speed gearbox and chain, for a top speed of about 155 km/h. A 189 kg wet weight and 15-litre tank made it a popular commuter and first big bike.

Best for
It's best suited as a light commuter and casual weekend rider rather than a dedicated tourer or performance machine, despite its touring category label.
Built for
A classic air-cooled parallel twin with modest power delivery, it offers a relaxed, forgiving, and mechanically simple riding experience typical of late-1980s middleweight standards.
Not ideal for
It is not a good fit for riders seeking highway-blitzing speed, serious long-distance touring comfort, or any kind of off-road capability.
Scores are derived from the spec sheet using the same model across every bike, so they compare like for like.
