Ducati replaced the 1299 Panigale V-twin with the Panigale V4 in 2018, using a 1,103 cc Desmosedici Stradale V4 derived from MotoGP thinking. It is the Italian litre-class benchmark for electronics and peak power.
S, R, SP and Speciale versions add suspension, aero and track kit. Capacity and output have moved with homologation years; an R model is not a base V4. Seat height is about 830–850 mm; wet weight in the mid-190s kg on S bikes, less on track-focused trims before fluids.
The Streetfighter V4 is the same family unfaired. Compare the road V4 with the S 1000 RR and Fireblade SP, not with a Panigale V2.
