The Harley-Davidson Softail Standard is a stripped-down member of the Softail family, with a solo seat, a mini ape-hanger handlebar and minimal chrome. The original Softail Standard used the Evolution and later Twin Cam engines in a hardtail-style chassis.
In 2020 Harley revived the Softail Standard on the newer Softail platform with the Milwaukee-Eight 107 V-twin, and it is aimed at riders who want to customise a bike from a simple starting point. Rivals include the Harley-Davidson Street Bob and Indian Chief.
