The Harley-Davidson XLH Sportster 883 Hugger was a lowered version of the Sportster 883, with a lower seat and shorter suspension. It was designed for shorter riders.

It used the 883cc air-cooled Evolution V-twin. It was popular as an accessible entry into Harley ownership. Rivals included the Honda Shadow VLX and Yamaha Virago 535.
