The CB500F is Honda’s A2-friendly naked, launched in 2013 alongside the CBR500R and CB500X on a shared 471 cc liquid-cooled parallel twin. Claimed output has sat at about 47 hp, which is the European A2 ceiling, with a seat height around 785–790 mm and wet weight in the high-180s to low-190s kg.
Honda has facelifted rather than replaced it. 2016 and 2019 brought styling, LED lights and a slipper clutch; later years added a TFT on some markets and, as the CB500 Hornet, sharper streetfighter clothes. E-Clutch appeared on related 500s in the mid-2020s. The engine stayed a mild, 180-degree twin designed to be serviced cheaply and ridden every day.
This is a first or second bike for licence-restricted riders, not a rival to the MT-07 on power. It is lighter and narrower than a CB650R, and more upright than a CBR500R. If you need luggage and a screen, the CB500X / NX500 is the same motor in a taller chassis.
