The Honda CBR 900 RR is the original FireBlade, designed by Tadao Baba and launched in 1992. It uses a liquid-cooled in-line four of 892cc at first, later 919cc, in a chassis much lighter than other big sports bikes of its time.
Its light weight and sharp handling changed the sports bike class. It was replaced by the CBR929RR. Rivals included the Yamaha YZF-R1 and Kawasaki ZX-9R.
