The Kawasaki Z900RS is a retro-styled naked bike launched in 2018, inspired by the classic Z1 of 1972. It uses a 948cc inline-four from the Z900, tuned for more low- and mid-range torque, with styling that recalls the original's teardrop tank and tail.
It is a comfortable, characterful bike with modern features such as traction control and ABS. The Café version adds a small fairing, and the SE adds Öhlins suspension and Brembo brakes. It has been a strong seller worldwide. Rivals include the Yamaha XSR900 and Triumph Speed Twin.
