The Suzuki GSX-R 1100 is the big-bore version of Suzuki's GSX-R sports bike. Early models used Suzuki's air- and oil-cooled in-line four, first of 1,052cc and from 1989 of 1,127cc, and from 1993 it was liquid-cooled.
Fast and tough, it was one of the most powerful bikes of its time and a favourite with tuners and drag racers. Rivals included the Kawasaki ZZ-R1100 and Yamaha FZR1000.
