Tomos has 63 models (96 model years) on MotorcycleDB, from 1983 to 2017, mostly scooters, naked bikes and sport bikes.
Tomos was founded in 1954 in Koper, in what was then Yugoslavia (now Slovenia), with a name that abbreviated "Tovarna Motornih koles Sezana" - Sezana Motorcycle Factory. It began under a production license from Austria's Puch, building mopeds under the Tomos name from that agreement. Through the 1960s the company narrowed its focus to 50cc vehicles, building particular success in the Dutch market after establishing itself at home, and by the following decades Tomos mopeds were sold worldwide on a reputation for simple, affordable, easy-to-maintain design. The company continued as an independent moped specialist for decades after other Yugoslav-era manufacturers faded, but financial pressure caught up with it: production ended in 2018, and Tomos formally went bankrupt on January 3, 2019, closing out 65 years of continuous moped manufacturing.
