The TVS Apache RTR 160 has been one of India's most popular sporty commuters since 2007. Its air-cooled 159.7cc single and sharp styling gave TVS a strong rival to the Bajaj Pulsar in the 150 to 160cc class.

In 2018 the Apache RTR 160 4V arrived with a new four-valve engine and twin-cradle frame, while the two-valve model continued alongside it. Later updates brought fuel injection, riding modes, ABS and Bluetooth. Rivals include the Bajaj Pulsar N160, Hero Xtreme 160R and Honda Unicorn.
