The Yamaha FZR 1000 is Yamaha's big sports bike of the late 1980s and early 1990s. It uses a liquid-cooled 1,002cc in-line four with five valves per cylinder in a Deltabox frame, and from 1989 the EXUP exhaust valve.
Fast and sharp-handling, it was one of the best superbikes of its time. Rivals included the Honda CBR1000F and Suzuki GSX-R1100.
