The Yamaha YZ250FX is the cross-country version of Yamaha's YZ250F motocrosser. It uses a liquid-cooled 250cc four-stroke single with electric start, a wider-ratio gearbox and softer suspension for woods and enduro racing.
Later models add traction control, launch control and Yamaha's Power Tuner app for adjusting engine maps from a phone. Rivals include the KTM 250 XC-F and Husqvarna FX 350.
