The Yamaha YZF-R1M is the high-spec version of Yamaha's R1 superbike, launched in 2015. It adds Öhlins electronic suspension, carbon-fibre bodywork and a data-logging system, making it suitable for track use.
It uses the R1's 998cc crossplane inline-four. It is produced in limited numbers and aimed at experienced riders who want a superbike with race-level components. Rivals include the BMW M 1000 RR and Ducati Panigale V4 S.
