The Yamaha YZF-R3 is a lightweight sportbike launched in 2015. It uses a 321cc parallel twin with a high-revving character and sportbike styling inspired by Yamaha's larger R models.
It is light, comfortable and easy to ride, making it a popular choice for new riders and A2 licence holders. Updates in 2019 brought new styling, an inverted fork and a more aggressive riding position, and ABS became standard in many markets. Rivals include the Kawasaki Ninja 400, Honda CBR500R and KTM RC 390.
