MV Agusta traces back to the Agusta family's aeronautical business, founded in 1907 by Count Giovanni Agusta. His son Domenico turned to motorcycles as post-war Italy needed cheap transport, registering Meccanica Verghera near Milan in January 1945. The company built a formidable racing pedigree through the following decades, winning over 3,000 races and dozens of world championships between 1948 and 1976, including Cecil Sandford's 1952 Isle of Man TT win aboard an MV 125 that launched the marque's first world title. That racing heritage still defines the brand today: MV Agusta builds high-performance, design-forward motorcycles - nakeds, supersports and adventure models - aimed at riders who want the character of a boutique Italian manufacturer rather than mass-market volume, continuing the engineering focus Domenico Agusta established from the company's earliest days.
